INTERNATIONAL POLICE MOTORCYCLE RALLY
The EPA Abruzzo regional chapter organized a motorcycle ride in L'Aquila from 29 June to 1 July 2018.
Many participants, notably from Milan, Belluno, etc... in northern Italy had travelled a long way to reach L'Aquila on Friday.
The EPA Board of Directors, represented by the President, the Secretary and the Treasurer, had come to promote the association and support the initiative of the EPA delegate for Abruzzo, Massimo D'Antonio.
Two courses were scheduled on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 June.
They allowed us to visit the region on the winding mountain roads and to discover splendid landscapes and beautiful old villages, but also the sad spectacle of the still very present consequences of the earthquake of 2009.
Of particular interest are the charm of San Benedetto in Perillis, its ancient residences and its 8th century abbey under renovation and the historic cellars of Pietronaj in Secinaro.
While some had already returned, the national EPA delegate in Italy, Stefano Borrelli, had joined us for the laying of a wreath on the stele dedicated to the victims of the Police Forces fallen during the war.
Thanks and congratulations to Massimo D'Antonio for this impeccable organization, thanks to the bikers of the local police of Aquila and the Carabinieri who escorted us every day, thanks to all the participants, thanks to all the people who contributed to the success of this event difficult to illustrate by only a few photos.
